Answer
in static call only value will be pass to called module, but
in dynamic call called module returns value to calling
module.

Answer
Calling With in the program is called static call.
Calling out side the program (other program) is called
Dynamic call.
Main and sub-programs are stored in single load module
in static call.Main and sub-programs are stored in
different load module in synamic call.
If u are made any change in static call uging program
u need to re run all the programes or load module. In
dynamic call Just u can run in which program u r made
changes or in which load module.

Answer
1.Static call is that in which programe is directly called
by its name. where as Dynamic call is that in which
programe called by a variable name.e.g programe name is
moved into a variable and that variable is used in call
statemant like
 working-storage section.
 01 var pic x(4) value 'call1'.
         .
         .
procedure division.
   call var.......
Note ; programe name must be given in working-storage
section.
2.static call linked at complie time where as dynamic call
at run time
3.in static call called programe never come into initiall
state after one time run. There is alway requried to complie
every time for new task .Instead of this dyanmic call call
programe always in initiall state

Answer
Static call is compiled and link edited to seperate load
module of calling program.
Dynamic call is compiled and link edited to different load
module of calling program

Answer
If a program is called statically then its load module is
combined with mainprograms load module.
In dynamically called program the load module is
independent of the main program's load module.

Why it's happening?
The answer is
In statically called program the program name is given
inside the procedure division as a value not a variable.
The value given inside the procedure division will be
resolved and changed to load module language during
compilation.

But for dynamically called program, the program name is
given as a variable. The value passed to the variable
through file or through working storage section is resloved
only during runtime.
So when we compile the dynamically called subprogram
1)First we compile the subprogram that creates its own load
module.
2)then we compile the main program. During main program
compilation it subrogram name will be taken as a value of a
variable. so the subprogram load module will not be
combined with the main program

3) when we run the main program(which calls the dynmically
called subprogram) the main program treates the subprogram
name as a value and the subprogram is called now.

if anyone have any corrections please let me know in

Answer
Static Linking means calling the subprogram directly with
name for example.

 call "subprogram name", call "ca100".
Calling the subprogram with out passing the parameters in
two subprogram.

Dynamic call:

Calling the subprogram with paramets.
call "cdate4" using w-date.

0 Minhaj.

Answer
Static call refers calling of the program in same
storage.Calling the program by its name. The program will be
calling using NODYNAM compiler option. In Static call
subprogram is linked at Compile time.In static call if we
want to edit the subprogram we need to compile both main
program and sub program. Static call calls one
program.Static program takes less time to execute. For
static call both calling and called programs will be having
one load module and they share only one load module.

Dyanamic call refers calling the program may be in differnt
storage.Calling the subprogram by a variable name. The
program is Calling using DYNAM option. In Dyanamic call
subprogram is linked at run time. The program must be in copy
library. In Dynamic call if we want to edit the subprogram we
need to compile only sub program.Dynamic call calls many
program. If the subprogram involves continuous change
Dynamic call is used. But for dynamic calling both calling
and called program have their own seaperate load modules.

Answer
There are lot of differences. Some of them are

1.If you call the subprogram by hardcoding it into the
program it is known as static program whereas calling the
subprogram by means of a working storage variable is known
as dynamic call.

Static call: CALL ''SUBPRG1''
Dynamic call: CALL WS-SPRGNAME

2.If you want to execute the modules with static call, the
load module will collectively contain the loadlibs of all
the modules involved.(Both calling and the called).

In case of Dynamic the loadlib contains the loadmodule of
the calling module alone.

3.If u want to call programs depending on some condition
(ie not every time with calling pogram must use Dynamic
call). If subprograms need to be called for everytime with
callling programs must use static call.

4.The module involving static call takes more time in
compilation process whereas dynamic takes more time to run.

These are some of the major differences. Please let me know
if i m wrong anywhere.

Answer
Static Call - 1) Identified by CALL Literal i.e CALL 'PGM1'
USING... 2)Compiler option must be specified as 'NODYNAM'.
3)If the subprogram i.e PGM1 undergoes any change, the main
and sub modules need to be recompiled. 4)submodules needs
to be link edited to the main module. 5) Size of the load
module will be large.

Dynamin Call - 1) Identified by CALL literal with the
module being passed through a variable. i.e CALL WS-PGM1.
2) Compiler option must be specified as 'DYNAMIC'
or 'DYNAM'. 3)If the subprogram which is being called
dynamically undergoes a change , the subprogram is alone
compiled enough to take effect of the changes. Compilation
of main module is not necessary. 4) submodules are picked
up from the load library when the program runs. 5) Size of
the load module will be less.

Answer
STATIC CALL:-
------------
STATIC CALL IS IDENTIFIED BY A CALL IS
LITERAL..EX:-CALL'PGM1'....COMPILER OPTION IS NO DYNAM...ALL LITERAL CALLS ARE CONSIDER AS STATIC CALLS...OBJECT CALLS ARE LINKED BEFORE THE EXECUTION..STATIC CALL IS FAST..LOAD MODULE WILL BE LARGE....LESS FLEXIBLE...SUB PROGRAMS UNDERGOES TO CHANGE NEED TO RECOMPILE MAIN PRG ALSO..

DYNAMIC CALL:-
------------
IDENTIFIED BY A CALL IS VARIABLE...MOVE 'PGM1' TO WS-PGM
                                   CALL 'WS-PGM'
COMPILER OPTION IS DYNAM...OBJECT CODS ARE LINKED DURING THE EXECUTION....SO PRG FIRST MOVE TO THE WORKING STORAGE VARIABLE AND NEST CALL THE WORKING STORAGE VARIABLE...PROCESS IS SLOW SO DYNAMIC CALL IS SLOW COMPARE TO STATIC CALL.....ITS NO NEED TO RECOMPILE THE MAIN PROGRAM
WHEN EVER THE SUB PROGRAM UNDER GOES TO CHANGE...THIS IS THE
MAIN ADVANTAGE IS IN DYNAMIC CALL....

Question   If one always ought to act so as to produce the best possible circumstances, then morality is extremely demanding. No one could plausibly claim to have met the requirements of this "simple principle." . . . It would seem strange to punish those intending to do good by sentencing them to an impossible task. Also, if the standards of right conduct are as extreme as they seem, then they will preclude the personal projects that humans find most fulfilling. From an analytic perspective, the potential extreme demands of morality are not a "problem." A theory of morality is no less valid simply because it asks great sacrifices. In fact, it is difficult to imagine what kind of constraints could be put on our ethical projects. Shouldn't we reflect on our base prejudices, and not allow them to provide boundaries for our moral reasoning? Thus, it is tempting to simply dismiss the objections to the simple principle. However, in Demands of Morality, Liam Murphy takes these objections seriously for at least two distinct reasons. First, discussion of the simple principle provides an excellent vehicle for a discussion of morality in general. Perhaps, in a way, this is Murphy's attempt at doing philosophy "from the inside out.". . . Second, Murphy's starting point tells us about the nature of his project. Murphy must take seriously the collisions between moral philosophy and our intuitive sense of right and wrong. He [must do so] because his work is best interpreted as intended to forge moral principles from our firm beliefs, and not to proscribe beliefs given a set of moral principles. [Murphy] argues from our considered judgments rather than to them. . . For example, Murphy cites our "simple but firmly held" beliefs as supporting the potency of the over- demandingness objection, and nowhere in the work can one find a source of moral values divorced from human preferences. Murphy does not tell us what set of "firm beliefs" we ought to have. Rather, he speaks to an audience of well- intentioned but unorganized moral realists, and tries to give them principles that represent their considered moral judgments. Murphy starts with this base sense of right and wrong, but recognizes that it needs to be supplemented by reason where our intuitions are confused or conflicting. Perhaps Murphy is looking for the best interpretation of our convictions, the same way certain legal scholars try to find the best interpretation of our Constitution. This approach has disadvantages. Primarily, Murphy's arguments, even if successful, do not provide the kind of motivating force for which moral philosophy has traditionally searched. His work assumes and argues in terms of an inner sense of morality, and his project seeks to deepen that sense. Of course, it is quite possible that the moral viewpoints of humans will not converge, and some humans have no moral sense at all. Thus, it is very easy for the moral skeptic to point out a lack of justification and ignore the entire work. On the other hand, Murphy's choice of a starting point avoids many of the problems of moral philosophy. Justifying the content of moral principles and granting a motivating force to those principles is an extraordinary task. It would be unrealistic to expect all discussions of moral philosophy to derive such justifications. Projects that attempt such a derivation have value, but they are hard pressed to produce logical consequences for everyday life. In the end, Murphy's strategy may have more practical effect than its first-principle counterparts, which do not seem any more likely to convince those that would reject Murphy's premises. 1) The author suggests that the application of Murphy's philosophy to the situations of two different groups: a) would help to solve the problems of one group but not of the other. b) could result in the derivation of two radically different moral principles. c) would be contingent on the two groups sharing the same fundamental beliefs. d) could reconcile any differences between the two groups. 2) Suppose an individual who firmly believes in keeping promises has promised to return a weapon to a person she knows to be extremely dangerous. According to Murphy, which of the following, if true, would WEAKEN the notion that she should return the weapon? a) She also firmly believes that it is morally wrong to assist in any way in a potentially violent act. b) She believes herself to be well-intentioned in matters of right and wrong. c) The belief that one should keep promises is shared by most members of her community. d) She derived her moral beliefs from first-principle ethical philosophy. 3) The passage implies that a moral principle derived from applying Murphy's philosophy to a particular group would be applicable to another group if: a) the first group recommended the principle to the second group. b) the moral viewpoints of the two groups do not converge. c) the members of the second group have no firmly held beliefs. d) the second group shares the same fundamental beliefs as the first group. 4) According to the passage, the existence of individuals who entirely lack a moral sense: a) confirms the notion that moral principles should be derived from the considered judgments of individuals. b) suggests a potential disadvantage of Murphy's philosophical approach. c) supports Murphy's belief that reason is necessary in cases in which intuitions are conflicting or confused. d) proves that first-principle strategies of ethical theorizing will have no more influence over the behavior of individuals than will Murphy's philosophical approach. 5) Which of the following can be inferred about "doing philosophy from the inside out?" a) Murphy was the first philosopher to employ such an approach. b) It allows no place for rational argument in the formation of ethical principles. c) It is fundamentally different from the practice of first-principle philosophy. d) It is designed to dismiss objections to the "simple principle." 6) A school board is debating whether or not to institute a dress code for the school's students. According to Murphy, the best way to come to an ethical decision would be to: a) consult the fundamental beliefs of the board members. b) analyze the results of dress codes instituted at other schools. c) survey the students as to whether or not they would prefer a dress code. d) determine whether or note a dress code has ever been instituted in the school's history. I also faced this Question!!   © ALL Interview .com
Answer
By using JSP forward attriputes within the html tag we can
just forward our page to servlet.or by using
response.sendRedirect()method we can call servlet page.
for example
-----------
<jsp:forward page="/relativepath/YourServlet" /> or
response.sendRedirect("http://path/YourServlet").

We can also pass the parameters in the same way to the
servlet
for example
-----------
<jsp:forward page=/relativepath/YourServlet>
<jsp:param name="name1" value="value1" />
<jsp:param name="name2" value="value2" />
</jsp:forward>
You may also pass parameters to your servlet by specifying
response.sendRedirect("http://path/YourServlet?
param1=val1").

Answer
Dear Vijay, being a programmer I do not want to be in
camps..like microsoft or linux(open source and under GPL).
For my career both are important. I am not criticizing any
particular language. But fact is fact. PHP is easy to learn
and this is the one of the major reason why competition is
growing these days on softwares/languages under GNU. To
Raja I would like to say..that php can never overtake Java.
Main reason is .....JAVA is a full fledged and PURE object
oriented language where PHP is only a scripting langauge.
You might be saying this due to lack of JAVA knowledge with
you. But we are not criticizing any languages here. As a
programmer we are not supposed to support only one or two
platformS..this will limit our ability to learn.

So, Close this war of PHP and JAVA.

Both languages are independently fine. And Opportunities are

Well PHP is all about "PICHDE HUE PROGRAMMERS"... hahaha

php is one of the oldest language I believe, and there are already a lots of programmers in the market already available for PHP so its tough decision to go in that career which every one knows...
So keeping knowledge of every programming knowledge is a part of software development as, might be you got a PHP project in very next future, So learning is all , learn well and earn Well.

If you want to go for a long run, then choose Microsoft Technologies like .net, definitely your career jumps at very beginning. When I started my career in .net I got a package of 1.2 laks per annumm. And now after 2 years I am in a reputed Web Development Company with 5.5 laks per annumm.
It looks like ASP.net is hard to learn but my dear, this is why there are less number of programmers and company pays us more than PHP developers.

don't say BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!!!!

GOOD LUCK TO YOUR FUTURE.
I WISH YOU GREAT SUCCESS.

Answer
helo Mns_rwt,

php might be a oldest language but its popularity increasing day by day. May be .net or java or some other goes down in the future but php is ever green. why because " Jab tak duniya hai tab tak internet rahega. jab tak internet hai tab tak dynamic sites bantehee rahenge aur web designing and web development rahega". most of people dont like microsoft technologies. every body likes open source. php is open source. and one thing no discussed.... you can do php freelancing. you can get projects on your own and you can earn sitting in home. one person is sufficient to complete the php projects. where in .net projects you need a team most of the times to complete the job. so dont hesitate to to do php. its much much much better than .net or jawa or what ever. because it guarantees you a consistant career.

I dont think php is inferior to any other language. It is
true that it could be learned fast, what you have learned is
not the end of php. It is huge. Now when u go deep into php,
ie when you use frameworks or when you code in oops concept
or when you use something like MVC framework in php you
will say php was not i had learned. And about te job, and
the money aspect. If you are a php programmer, and if you
know how to do work then, money will come your way.... never
forget Facebook, the most visited website was built in
php.... so i say there is plenty of scope for php and its
programmers....

Question   What will you do, if your subordinate has a problem with you? How will you deal with this situation Rank Answer Posted By
Interview Question Submitted By :: Vidhya
I also faced this Question!!   © ALL Interview .com
Answer
I will confront the issue

1 Suresha

Answer
I will try to uderstand him, if lealy some mistake happen
by me, definatly i improve it. but, yet he cant understand
then i trasfer the dicition to our head

1 Vaibhav

Answer
First i will take a short meeting with my subordinate.
Listen their attitude about me & my work. I try to explain
my opinion about their overview & try to sort out the
problem, because i always belive to sort the problem with
discussion to avoid misunderstanding.

5 Archana

Answer
i will sort out the problem with him ASAP by having a
meeting with him.I will try to understand his view and help
him to understand the situation why the problem occured
with him.If he is not correct in his openion i wil warn him
and if he is right i will change my strategy and make him
happy by encouraging him by applying his thoughts in the
project.

I always open for good suggestions at any stage of project
from any body from project.I will be really hard and tough
on them who are not doing their job right and try to create
problem with in the team and spoiling the team work.

5 Vijay Macharla

Answer
First, I would have not allowed happening such situation. I
try to make everyone happy with me.

If the situation happened beyond my control. First Iíll
analyze current status project he is working with, the
importance of his role, and the time frame I have to solve
the issue. Then I select one of the following conflict
resolution techniques in the order.
Confronting
Compromising
Avoiding
Smoothing

1 Sundar G Pmp(r)

Answer
Have a one on one with the team member and in a friendly
manner elicit information from him regarding the problems
he/she has with you. These could be symptoms of a bigger
problem pertaining to perception or reality.

Analyze each of the these very objectively encouraging the
member to speak up without having to worry about any
consequences. (In many instances, the members would not like
to divulge critical information which would be useful in
resolving the issue. This could stem from fear or un-easiness).

If I have another line of thought, discuss the same with
examples, to help the member understand your point of view
;or if there is some issue which is an area of improvement
-acknowledge it and thank him for making you aware of the
issue and helping me improve.

Pursue the issues to resolution by gaining trust from the
member. This will help the member become more productive and
also reduce non productive stress in the team

4 Bj

Answer
I would have a patient listening with him. Since project
activities are similar to compartments. Hence frustrations
and anxiety shall be a routine attribute to these
individual compartments. It would be better to explain him
the entire project and his position in the Chain. After all
each of weak chain has to be identified and strenghtened.
The symptons of weak chain may be frustations, blame game
etc. So this would help.

Having a regular meeting with project team helps to ease out
and smoothen the functioning.

However seldom 360 reporting is required and the
subordinate has the right to approach the management.

4 Surender Yadav

Answer
Any conflict is best resolved by discussing the issue 1-2-1
rather than avoiding it.
The moment I sense that there is tension created I will
have a meeting with that subordinate and will ask him his
side of the story. We will have a discussion where I will
try and reason him his point of view and also explain him
our strategy. I will consider his idea and if appropritate
will implement the same.
Due to any problem the work should not be affected in any
way. He shud be informed that next time any kind of
suggestion will be open to discussion.

5 Ashika

Answer
If I see a prob. with my sub-ordinate, definitely I will
have a one on one meet with him. I will ask him what's his
problem? I will try to identify what's the source for his/
her problem?

What ever the reason, definitely I will have a deep
discussion and try to solve the problem ASAP. If he is not
convinced with my solution, the same will be informed to
the higher management and recommed him to have a skip level
meeting to find for a solution.

2 Mohan Kumar

Answer
I will just place myself to his position and will try to
understand the situation. If the problem is related to
personal issues, then need to talk to him/her personally and
if needed I'm ready to compromise myself in some cases for
the sake of the project as well as the team. If the problem
is with him due to his fault, then just point out the
problem and clearly state him to rectify him.

5 Indranil Bhattacharya

Answer
I will schedule and hold a meeting with the subordinate. Understand what he has an issue with or his point of view is. In case I find the issue is genuine then take remedial action. If I find the issue is due a misunderstanding shall clear it up by providing the background info, Company /Management viewpoint.

3 Shyam

Answer
We agree to disagree. Healthy conflicts are always welcome
in the team, That provides way for idea generation and
innovation.
Most important is "LISTEN".
I faced similar situation in various projects.I respect the
vaious views and take the balance decision which helps the
team and over all project. Conflict resolution is mostly
depend on situations as well as leadership styles.
I always seen a gap between Intentions and interpretations.
There are always sensing sessions, formal , informal
meetings where in PM can anticipate the team dynamics and
team health.

5 Yogesh

Answer
1. Show caring by any mean
2. Meet personally and listen
3. Ask for propsed solutions and give solution
4. Come to a conclusion
5. Seek Commitment to adhere to the guidelines

0 Hari Thapliyal

Answer
Discussion about problem. Clearing of doubts and stating my
stand.

0 Shri

Answer
Very first thing I will do is to call a meeting with my
team member. And I will request him to present his thoughts
on my work and way of leading and how he is taking a
difference with the team thoughts.
I will try to convience them with the opinion. I always do
a team discussion for any intiative and who is liking to
lead the intiative. Try to understand the team indiviuals
and utilise the potential to avoid this kind of issues.

0 Anoop Kumat

Answer
first of all, i,ll not confront him directly. i'll try to

Question   what do u mean by test harnesses in qtp? Rank Answer Posted By
Interview Question Submitted By :: Svit00ef27
I also faced this Question!!   © ALL Interview .com
Answer
Wikipedia Say's:

In software testing, a test harness or automated test
framework is a collection of software and test data
configured to test a program unit by running it under
varying conditions and monitor its behavior and outputs. It
has two main parts: the test execution engine and the test
script repository.

Test harnesses allow for the automation of tests. They can
call functions with supplied parameters and print out and
compare the results to the desired value. The test harness
is a hook to the developed code, which can be tested using
an automation framework.

A test harness should allow specific tests to run (this
helps in optimising), orchestrate a runtime environment,
and provide a capability to analyse results.

The typical objectives of a test harness are to:

Automate the testing process.
Execute test suites of test cases.
Generate associated test reports.
A test harness typically provides the following benefits:

Increased productivity due to automation of the testing
process.
Increased probability that regression testing will occur.
Increased quality of software components and application.

hi. i am "your name". as the academic details already
mentioned in the resume. dont concentrate on those details.
if you worked out with your project in any good company.
then stress on your attitude and your responsibilities in
that company. and coming to others. keep concentrate on
your technical abilities, skills and give some important to
your strengths which relates to the company which you are
going to an interview. stress on your certifications.
These are only guide lines. style and perspective may
change from person to person. so follow these guide lines
but not keep concentrating on others view and buttifying

Question   what is the need of abstraction? what is abstraction?what is the abstraction for stack? Rank Answer Posted By
Interview Question Submitted By :: Srinivas
I also faced this Question!!   © ALL Interview .com
Answer
for the user simplicity .with knowing the internal
details we can use the pakages.in the oops interfaces are
created .with knowing the internal procedure we can use the
interface.
in the large projects in the organization .the team
lader gives the interfaces to the project members they can
impliment that interfaces packages .

ex:-all packages in windows like summation in word pad.

the machanism in stack is "first in last out".
the processes which comes first that will be exicuted last.

Answer
plz give me the correct answer

0 Chandrakala

Answer
As I answered one of the questions here, the abstraction is
nothing but declaration of a concept in software terms
which does not exist in real-world.

For example, mango, drumstick, brinjal, potato are all
vegetables. But "Vegetable" is just a concept and it has no
real-world existance.

To represent these kind of concept in software terms, we
need abstration.

On the other hand, the mango, brinjal, ... are all have
concrete implementations since they have certain properties
and can do some operations on them in the real world.

I couldn't get the third question "abstraction for stack",
but I try to answer with what I understood.

Normally, stack's operations include push, pop, top, size,
empty e.t.c. If we define an interface with these, it ll be
an abstraction for stack. Let me know if it doesn't answer
your question.

0 Mms Zubeir

Answer
Abstraction is nothing but binding the code and data
together to protect the code and data from out side world.

0 Vara Prasad

Answer
Abstraction is nothing but the hierarchical clasification
of complex system. that is abstraction is a process to
break the complex system in to small manageble parts.

It is use full in coding.

0 Vara Prasad

Answer
Abstraction literally means hiding. Now in OOP the
intention is to hide the complexity. For this reason
generally the data in classes is protected. THis data is
accessible to the functions(some times called behaviour).
OK! now for a user creating an application, it is easier to
use functions using the objects of class rather than
manipulating the data itself. This is how abstraction
works. Abstraction is a conceptual theory or a way of doing
things, not a must.

0 Achal Ubbott

Answer
to abstract require set of data & hiding there abstraction details from outside enviroment

5 Xxx

Answer
Abstraction refers to the act of representing essential features without including the background details or explanation. Classes use the concept of abstraction and are defined as a list of abstract attributes such as size, weight, and cost, and function to operate on these attributes.

Question   what is the difference between testlog and testdirector? thank u Rank Answer Posted By
Interview Question Submitted By :: Qajobs
I also faced this Question!!   © ALL Interview .com
Answer
Test log is actually the resultant of automated testing
process, whenever u carry out testing, test log is
generated which is nothing else than a summary sheet for
status of all cases either passed or failed.

Whereas testdirector is a server-client based testing tool
which helps you in performing functionality testing of your
application. Test log are generated here also but after the
testing process.

0 Ashish Saxena

test director is test management tool where in you can plan

I also faced this Question!!   © ALL Interview .com
Answer
This answer is based on the projects produced in the resume
and it lots depend whether it required automation. It also
depends on the size of the team and as well as other factors.
Generally regression testing is done whenever it is
confirmed once by testing the entire functionality manually
and treated application is stable. My regression test effort
mainly concentrates on bugs raised earlier.

All comments accepted.

1 Prasad

Answer
application of regression testing is not only applied for
changees/ rectification of bugs but also usefull in
product testing where version of products comes in to
picture. for ex:yahoo mail inthat comaponet Compose/check
mail allthough version of yahoo mail may change but
fuctionality of chekmail/compose mail keeps so her is the
regression testing comes into picture so here inthis aprt u
can automate the test.

Question   tell me about severity and priority with example Rank Answer Posted By
Interview Question Submitted By :: Guest
I also faced this Question!!   © ALL Interview .com
Answer
Severity means the Impact of the Bug on the Applicaton

Priority is how urgernt the bug needs to be fixed

Severity can be High or Low
Priority can be High or Low

1]High Severity And Low Priority----If there is an
application , if that application crashes after mulple use
of any functionality (exa--save Button use 200 times then
that application will crash)

Means High Severity because application chrashed but Low
Priority because no need to debug right now you can debug
it after some days.

2]High Priority And Low Severity---- If any Web site
say "Yahoo" now if the logo of site "Yahoo" spell s "Yho" -
---Than Priority is high but severity is low.

Because it effect the name of site so important to do
quick ---Priority

but it is not going to crash because of spell chage so
severity low

2 Sj1234

Answer
severity is how badly the bug impact on the Application
Priority is selection to fix the bug

Example:
suppose the bug is in the application name "Microsoft"
to"Macrosoft" then the severity is low and the priority is
high
because:
while in these case the bug does not effect our application
and our application function smoothly so the severiy is low
but it make a high effect on company Name so the priority
is High

2 Satyendra Prasad

Answer
severity means impact of the bug on the application.
priority means importance of the bug on the application.

Example:
suppose the bug is in the application name "Microsoft"

because:
while in these case the bug does not effect our application
and our application function smoothly so the severiy is low

Hi every body,

I give the standard format Query for this type of top most
and who are the top n people in the organization like that

If we take EMP table

Select * from EMP A where &n= (select count (distinct
(sal)) from EMP B where B.sal>A.sal)

If we give n value 1 or 2 or 3Ö.etc then we gets top one,
top second, and top third person details.

This same query can we use top n people who are earning
maximum salaries in the Organization

Select * from EMP A where &n> (select count (distinct

Guys Few of you have submitted an optimal query.

select distinct sal from emp A where 3 = (select count(sal)
from emp B where a.sal > b.sal)

However the integer 3 will not give the third highest salary
as expected. Point should be noted that the row starts with
zero.

so the actual result will the fourth highest salary with the
above query.

Answer
Guys
i have executed this query in sql plus. This is correct

Select * from EMP_USER A where n-1 = (select count
(distinct (sal)) from EMP_USER B where A.sal<B.sal)

where n=3

reason for using n-1 is below:

1.We are using correlated sub query.so sal value from each
row in outer query(EMP_USER A) is compared with sal of all
the rows in EMP_USER B

eg:
ENAME SAL
----- -----
SMITH 800
KING 5000
FORD 3000

here third highest is 800.so when executing this 800 from
outer query is compared with 800,5000,3000 in inner query
which returns a count(distinct(sal) = 2

if you use n instead of n-1 you get a empty result.

Let me know if this is correct
