I also faced this Question!!   ALL Interview .com
Answer
You mean insulation resistance ?As a rough guide,the megger
value should be at least 2 M ohm per KV rating at 60'C for
11 KV and above.The megger value doubles itself for every
10'C fall in temp.

Question   What is the formula to find out the kvar required to improve the powerfactor from .85 to .99 at 1500kw, 415v. Rank Answer Posted By
 Interview Question Submitted By :: Niharr.pradhan
I also faced this Question!!   ALL Interview .com
Answer
first calculate the kva at .99 and 1500kw
(cosp=kw/kva),than put the value of kva in this formula kva=
(kw)2+(kvar)2)^1/2 to caculate kvar at .99 pwr factor

0 Waqi

Answer
The KVAR required is:

KVAR=KW(tan@1-tan@2) (where @1=cos-1(p.f1)& @2=cos-1(p.f2)

Therefore,

KVAR=KW {tan[cos-1(p.f1)]-tan[cos-1(p.f2)]}

    =KW {tan[cos-1(0.85)]-tan[cos-1(0.99)]}

    =KW {tan[31.79]-tan[8.11]}

    =KW {0.48}

    =1500 {0.48}

    =720

Therefore 720 KVAR is required to improve powerfactor from
0.85 to 0.99 for 1500KW load.

NOTE:-
Excuse me if the answer is wrong.

Answer
Dear Waqi

I am not understand your answer for the above mentioned question. Will you please solve and give us the answer for required KVAR to improve power factor from 0.85 to 0.99 for 1500KW load.

0 Habeebm
[Trident Hotel]

Answer
KVAR=KVA*SIN(PHI)
KW=KVA*COS(PHI)

HENCE....KVAR/KW=TAN(PHI)

KVAR=KW*TAN(PHI)

NOW, FOR P.F.(1)=COS(PHI(1))=.85 THEN TAN(PHI(1))=.6197
FOR P.F.(2)=COS(PHI(2))=.99 THEN TAN(PHI(2))=.1425

KW=1500 KW IS COMMON FOR BOTH CASE 1 & 2

REQUIRED....
KVAR=KW*[TAN{PHI(1)}-TAN{PHI(2)}]

HENCE KVAR=1500*(0.6197-0.1425)=715.8

YOU NEED TO ARRANGE CAPACITOR BANK OF 715.8 KVAR.

I also faced this Question!!   ALL Interview .com
Answer
Normally In PID Controller Proportional gain and integral
time is important parameters
in Process control we are using several parameters so we
maintain a pertucular level of the system proportional is
used.

0 Rajesh

Answer
proportional control is used to linear
increase(relationship) with the controlled variable and to
the final control element

0 Dinesh
[SML]

Answer
To maintain one-to-one correspondence between error signal
and manipulated signal.

0 Sattar
[SML]

Answer
proportional controller changes the controller output with
respest to error
but it produces linear offset
p=kP eP

0 Rajesh Kumar
[SML]

Answer
It is the amount the measurement must change to move the
valve (final control element) fully open or fully closed in
a control system.

0 Rt Langley
[SML]

Answer
In controller must be used proportaional (P). according to
change in input it 'll change the output. means output is
proportional to the input. if controller is direct action
it 'll be directly proportional and if controller is
reverse action then it 'll be inverslly proportional. Keep
in your mind controller input is always an error signal.
