Question   What happens when DC supply is given to transformer Rank Answer Posted By
Interview Question Submitted By :: Guest
I also faced this Question!!   ALL Interview .com
Answer
when dc supply is given to the transformer momentary emf is generated at the secondary side and collapse suddenly.
because flux does not change periodically due to dc supply.

1 Alok Ranjan

Answer
when a dc supply is given to a transformer initially a flux is generated in primary windings but there is no emf produced because of e=-d(change in flux)/change in time.and there is no
output produced in the secondary output.

5 Arun Singh Mehra

Answer
transformer winding will get damaged, why because for Dc flux produced will be zero, emf generated in winding i zero so difference in supply voltage and emf produced high. as the transformer winging resistance also less so high current flow through winding so transformer get damaged

0 Tirupathi Rao

Answer
when the dc supply passes through the transformer winding transformer core will gets magnatised (electro magnetic energy generated)

Question   why do fans generally rotate in anti clock wise direction?? Rank Answer Posted By
Interview Question Submitted By :: KAUSHIK2222
I also faced this Question!!   ALL Interview .com
Answer
because fans are used to get air that's why design of fans are like that they rotate in anticlockwise if fans suck the air like exhaust fans they are rotate in clockwise direction.

5 Parveen

Answer
If the fan rotate in clock wise direction , it will suck
the air and push to other side . The fanblades are designed
such way to pump the surrounding air .

Question   which starter is used for synchronous motor Rank Answer Posted By
Interview Question Submitted By :: Thir
I also faced this Question!!   ALL Interview .com
Answer
1-:STAR -DELTA STARTOR
2-:COUPLING WITH INDUCTION MOTOR AND REMOVE THE MOTOR
AFTER GETING 80% TO 90% OF SYNCHRONOUS SPEED
3-:USING DAMPER BARS

0 Moti Rgpv

Answer
BUT IN THE OPTIONS THESE ARE NOT THERE
OPTIONS.
1)DOL 2)AUTO T/F
3)ANY ONE 4)NO ANS

0 Thiru

Answer
DOL is also correct BUT IT IS NOT WIDELY USE FOR LARGE
RATING FOR SYN. MOTOR.
SO IN OPCTION DOL IS WRITE

0 Moti Rgpv

Answer
synchronising

0 Ramu

Answer
At first , the synchronous motor is coupled with induction
motor then the synchronous motor will run as a induction
motor and then the d.c supply is given to the field winding
of the synchronous motor ,the rotor will tends to magentic
locking with stator rotating field then that synchronous
motor wii run at synchronous speed

0 Mallikarjun

Answer
First of all i think this question is objective
.......starter can be DOL direct on line or using auto
transformer

so both can be used.Apart from it all methods in first
answers r right.

0 Varun

Answer
Generally Synchronous motors are not self starting motors.
A pony motor is required to rotate and D.C extitation is
also required.Liquified rotary starters are used

0 Kesavulu

Answer
3 point stater

Answer
Across the line Starter.
with time delay relay or current sensing relay or
speed monitor relay to
energize the field when the motor is close to
synchronous speed

For above 600 volt motors, a Circuit Breaker can be
used instead of a starter.
