Answer
In the case M30 concrete we calculating by design mix.but
incase of norminal mix we can use 1:1:2.
calculating cement, sand and concrete.
toal ratio=1+1+2=4
cement = 15.4/4=3.85cum=11bags
sand=3.85*1=3.85 cum
chips=3.85*2=7.7 cum

Notes: why we divided 15.4
but it is difficult to acess exactly the amount of each
material recquired to produce 1cum.of wet concrete when
deposite in place.
to find out volumes of cement sand & coarse aggregate
divided a numerical no. 15.4 variable up to 15.7 according
to proportioning and water cement ratio by the summation of
the proporation of the ingrediants used and then multiply
the result thus obtained their respective srength of
proportion.

Answer
M30- cement=1/4*1.54=0.385*28.8=11bags
sand-0.385*1=0.385cum
agregate 0.385*2=0.77cum

Notes;why we multiply by 1.54
dry dencity=1.54*wet denciti in conct.work

Answer
If you Consider M25 Grade Concrete Nominal mix Design is
1:1:2(1 Cement:1 Sand:2 Aggregates)

1+1+2=5

Volume of Dry Mix=1.5% X Volume of wet mix
If you Consider 1 Cum Concrete
Cement=1/5X1.5(1)=0.3 Cum(1 Bag of Cement=50 Kgs=1.235
Cft=0.035 Cum)
Then 0.3 /0.035=8.57 bags=428 kgs

Sand=1/5X1.5(1)=0.3 Cum=10.584 Cft

Aggregates=2/5X1.5(1)=06 Cum=21.168 Cft

Answer
if we consider concrete grade M20(1:2:3)
1+2+3=6
wet volume 1.58cum
cement = 1/6x1.58=0.26cum
volume of one bag of cement = 0.033cum
total quantity of cement bag one CUM concrete =0.26/.033=7.87bags
7.87x50 kg=393kg

Answer
The approach by Sjtbehera is totally correct but has some
little silly mistakes...I have tried to give a rectified
solution.

In the case M30 design mix, the quantities of cement,sand
and aggregates cannot be calculated as it is a variable
quantity.It depends upon the Mix designer how much quantity
of cement,sand and aggregates he will employ.His only
intention would be to design a mix whose specified
characteristic compressive strength at 28 days=30 N/sq.mm
But in case of nominal mix we can use 1:1:2
Let us consider a volume of 10 cu. m (Wet concrete)

It is difficult to access exactly the amount of each
material required to produce 10 cu m of wet concrete when
deposited in place.
Hence to convert the wet volume into dry volume,
Increase by 54 % to account for shrinkage and wastage

Thus it becomes=15.4 cu. m (Variable upto 15.70)

Calculating cement, sand and aggregates in the mix:
Total summation of proportion=1+1+2=4

Cement = 15.4/4= 3.85 cu. m =3.85/0.0347=110 bags
Sand=15.4/4=3.85 cu. m
Aggregates(20mm to 6mm)=15.4 x (2/4)=7.70 cum

Hope u have understood and the mistake is clarified!!!

Answer
Take a Ratio 1:1.5:3
Now 1+1.5+3= 5.5
Now Divide This By 1.52 Which Is wet Volume
Now 1.52/5.5 =0.276
Now Multiply This by 30 Coz 1 Cum Of Cement Contains 30
bags dry.
==> 0.276 X 30 = 8.29 Bags Or 414 Kg cement.

Answer
for designing 1m3 concrete of M25 mix the ratio is 1:1:2
for calculating cement,sand and course aggregate ,
cement= 1/(1+1+2)=.25
density of cement =1440kg/m3
cement required for this mix=1440*.25=360kg=6bags+10kg
sand=1/4=.25m3
course aggregate=1-.5=.5m3
this methode of designing is known as volume batching ,this
methode will be ues to design mixes upto m25.

Answer
take the ratio 1:1.5:3
cement =1
sand   =1.5
metal  =3
So what is the ratio we want to mixing 1+1.5+3=5.5
Volum of wet cement concret is 1.54 to 1.57
unit weight of cement bag is 1440 kg/cum
one bag of cement = 50/1440 = 0.034722 cum

SOLUTION : CEMENT = 1.54/5.5 =0.28
                  =0.28/0.0347 = 8.069 ( 8 bags)
one bag of cement =50 kg X 8.069 = 403.45 kgs.

 SAND solution   =0.28 X 1.5 = 0.42 Cum
                  1.5 is the mixing proportion
METAL SOLUTION  = 0.28 x 3 = 0.84 cUM.
                   3 is the mixing proportion
1 Cum cement concrete is 1:1.5:3 ratio

    cement = 403.45 kgs.
    sand   = 0.42  Cum.
    metal  = 0.84  Cum.

Answer
M30 means , proportion 1:1:2 , so that

Total Volume = 1m3
we take 52% extra for dry volume , miss handling etc then ,
total volume = 1* 1.52 = 1.52 m3
Quantity of cement required = 1.52/(1+1+2)=0.38/0.035= 10.857bags = 11 bags
Quantity of sand required = 0.38*1=0.38m3
Quantity of aggregate required = 0.38*2 = 0.76m3

Answer
Take the retio 1:1.5:3
Cement = 1
Sand = 1.5
Aggregates = 3
The volume of none mixed material is 1.52 m3 for one cu.m
mexid concret becouse the the aggregate sand and cement
have porosity that will fill with some of sand and
cement,so 1.52/(1+1.5+3)=1.52/5.5=0.276
Cement=0.276*1=0.276 cu.m = 0.276/0.036*50 bag = 383kg
0.036 is one bag volume
Sand = 0.276*1.5 = 0.414 cu.m
Aggregate = 0.276*3 = 0.828 cu.m
0.276+0.414+0.828=1.518 near to 1.52

If we consider M30 mix is 1:1:2 than sum of the proption =4
Now calculate the quantity of cement= 15.4/4=3.85cu m
1.00cum have 30bags cement
So 1 bag cement=0.034 cum
3.85/0.34=11.32 bags
11.32*50=339.6 KG`
Sand=3.85cum
coarse aggregate=3.85*2=7.7 cum

Calculation for Cement:-

100 cft of conc in loose 144 to 154 cft required,average of
144 and 154 is 149 cft say 150 cft.

M25 = 1:1:2=4

150cft/4=37.5cft
37.5cft/1.2=31.25bags  [1 bags of cement is 1.2cft]
=31.25/2.83=11bags     [1 cft = 0.0283cum x 100 cft=2.83cum]
per cum cement required=11bags

Calculation for Sand:-
11bags x 1.2 cft = 13.2 cft = 13.2 x 0.0283=0.374 cum
Per cum sand required = 0.374cum

Calculation for Aggregate:
=0.374 x 2 = 0.747 cum
per cum Aggregate required = 0.747 cum

Answer
Take The Ratio - 1:1.5:3
For 1 cu.m wet volume consider its dry volume 54% more
i.e = 1.54 cu.m of concrete.
Total Volume of concrete for Mix= 1.54/1+1.5+3 = 0.28 cu.m
Total quantity of cement for Mix= 0.28/1 = 0.28 cu.m
Total quantity of cement in bags= 0.28/0.035 = 8 bags
Total quantity of Metal for Mix= 0.28/1.5 = 0.187 cu.m
Total quantity of sand for Mix= 0.28/3 = 0.093 cu.m

Answer
For M30 nominal mix, considering the ratio (1:1:2),

Cement = 1
Fine Agg = 1
Coarse Agg = 2

Total = 1+1+2=4

Considering the above ratio in grams i.e, (cement = 1 gm, Fine agg = 1 gm, Coarse agg = 2 gm) then

For 1 cum, 1/4 = 0.25 % will be filled.

Now, Volume of 1 bag of cement is 35 litres or 0.035 mL

Since, to maintain W/C ratio, the amount of cement & water should be equal.

Therefore, 1 gm of cement will require 0.035 mL of water.

0.25/0.035 = 7.15 approx. Bags or 357.5 kg of Cement.

or consider like this

1/((1+1+2)*0.035) = 7.15 approx. Bags or 357.5 kg of Cement (7.15 * 50 = 357.5), here ratio is 1 therefore 1*50=50

Fine Agg = 357.5 kg (7.15 * 50 = 357.5), here ratio is also 1 therefore 1*50=50

Coarse Agg = 715 kg (7.15 * 100 = 715), here ratio is 2 therefore 2*50=100

Adding all, 357.5+357.5+715 = 1430 kg

for designing 1m3 concrete of M25 mix the ratio is 1:1:2
for calculating cement,sand and course aggregate ,
for 1m3 add 50% for shrinkage and wastage so 1.5m3
 1.5m3/(1+1+2)=.375
density of cement =1440kg/m3=says 1440/50=28.8bags
cement required for this mix=.375*28.8=10.8bags
sand=.375*1=.375m3
course aggregate=.375*2=.75m3
                                FINALLY WE SAY 10.8 BAGS/M3

Grade M30 Ratio is 1:1.5:3
I am telling simple concept
Add the ratio 1+1.5+3=5.5
assume approximate volume for 20mm aggregate =1.57
                              40mm aggregate =1.52
Qty of cement 1/5.5*1.57=0.28m3
Density of cement =1440kg/m3
Weight of cement per m3=1440*0.28=403.2kg/m3
                 per bag=403.2/50=8.02bag
Qty of fine aggregate=1.5/5.5*1.57=0.428kg/m3
Qty of coarse aggregate=3/5.5*1.57=0.856kg/m3

Answer
Generally speaking, you must limit expenses and ensure that
some of your assets are in the form of short term assets.
The higher your short term assets and the less your short
term debt, the better your ability to pay the debt (short
term liquidity ratio / liquidity ratio help you determine
this).The ratio analysis will be the guide stick for the
liquidity ratio.

 2, PREPAID INSURANCE A/C DR
    TO BANK / CASH , PREPAID INS. IS CURRENT ASSET

0 Nidheesh

Answer
Dear Venkata Subbaiah garu It seems you answered it in a
hurry mood
1. Outstanding salary means Expenditure incurred but not
paid.Ex. March month salary paid in April. To know true
and correct profit You have to Debit salaries account and
credit Payables a/c . So the entry will be
Salaries a/c          Dr 20,000/-
Outstanding salaries a/c           20,000/
(Being payable salary for the month brought into account)
2. Prepaid Insurance means A part of premium belongs to
next accounting year. So to take actual amount of insurance
expenditure into account you have to transfer such amount
which relates to next year. So the entry will be
  Prepaid Insurance a/c        Dr
To Insurance a/c
 By crediting the expenditure we are reducing the
expenditure to the tune of next accounting year.

0 Mudunoori

Answer
Sajeer saab You did a mistake in the second answer. Prepaid
insurance is an adjustment entry to be passed in the year
end. Insurance was already paid and entry was passed . with
your entry cash will be unnecessarily reduced to the tune
of 5000. So once again verify your answer and question. The
right answer is
 Prepaid Insurance a/c           Dr
 Insurance a/c
(Prepaid insurance was created and reduced from insurance )

0 Mudunoori

Answer
mr mudnoori, ihave a doubt, can we credit an expense?,as
insurence is an expense.here mr sajeer may be cosidering
insurence paid on march, which belongs to april so his
entry is correct,otherwise entry will be pass as follows

prepaid insurence a/c dr..........
   to cash/bank........cr
(being insurece paid for one year)
then monthly entry is

insurence a/c dr.........
 to prepaid insurence.......cr

0 Areena

Answer
Areena very good question put by you. Insurance is not
related to Aprils expenditure. Generally Genaral insurance
will be paid for a period of one year. It is quite usual to
pass an adjustment entry for the expenses which benifits
more than a year.More over to reduce the ependiture or
income we have to reverse the natural poostion of ledger
accounts.So crediting expenditure is quite justifiable. To
confirm my answer you can refer any practicing person or
our commerce books. Another example for recersing entry is
about fixed assets. The natural position of fixed assets
are always DEbit. While creating depreciation on asset we
are reversing the natural position into credit
       I think you may be satisfied with my answer.Pl refer
if any thing thru this or with my mail

1.
Salary   A/c                         Dr  Rs 20,000
     To Salary Outstanding A/c Cr Rs 20,000
( Being salary outstanding)
Note: since salary is anture of expese therefore debited
and salary outstanding means salary not yet paid therefore
is a current liability. thus will be credited.
2.
Prepaid insurance A/c Dr Rs 5,000
     To cash/Bank     A/c          Cr         Rs 5,000

Note:- Since insurance is paid in advance therfore is a

1
Salary A/C Dr.               20000
 To Outstanding Salary A/C          20000
Note-
bcoz this salary relates to the current year, but not paid
during the C.Y so our liability increases and increase in
liability must be credited, therefore i have credited
outstanding salary a/C.

2.
Prepaid Insurance A/C Dr.     5000
 To Insurance A/C                   5000
Note-

This insurance exp. relates to the next year but we have
paid it in current yr in advance,so our asset increases and
increase in asset must be debit therefore I have debited
Prepaid Insurance A/C

Answer
I guess, if it is not asking for any kind of loop (for /
while) then one can use recursive functions to achieve this.

3 Manish Verma

Answer
We are using 'goto' statement to print the numbers without using
if,for,while etc.

Question   What the capacitor Current formula?, For 1 KVAr how amps its required? for using the KVAr for boosting the PF Design Calculation.( Eg: for 30 KVAr required how many KW?) Rank Answer Posted By

Answer
As per my knowledge,
On my site bellow capacitor bank I am using.
I have 350 Kvar capacitor bank in this bank 25 kvar
capacitors are placed.

Capacitor specification

Volt = 440
Kvar  = 25
Three Phase

                 KVA
I    =       ----------
              Volt *1.732

                25000
I    =       ----------
             440 *1.732

I    =      32.80  Amps

Eg         30 Kvar

                KVA
I    =       ----------
              Volt *1.732

               30000
I    =       ----------
              440 *1.732

I    =        39.36 Amps

Answer
You explained the answer in KVA? where do get the kva from
this variables, the formula for capacitor in KVAr, KVAr
into KW, KVA & Amps

0 Pasuvaraj

Answer
For correcting PF KVAr is introduced, thus formula

pf=cos A is significant

there you should have a desired PF. If for example you need
a power factor of .90 to maintain for a 30kVAR the watts
that would come will be:

A=arccos .90
A= 25.84

WATTs= KVAR/tan 25.84

= 62500 watts approx.

remember that for PF correnction it is the KVAR that is in
need of computation and not the watts so the question would
rather be, how much capacitor kVAR you need to correct the
power factor.

4 Arnie

Answer
VOLT = 400
KVAr = 30
PHASE = 3

I = KVAr
    -----
    400 x 1.732
  =43amps.
Kw = I x 0.624
   = 26.8KW.

3 Jose

Answer
The question requires more details.
First the "K" represents kilo or 1000.
The real power (kW) can be thought of as the x-axis and the
reactive power (kVar) from inductance or capacitance can be
thought of as the y-axis. The hypotenuse is the
Apparent power (KVA). The relationship of Real to apparent
power gives the Power Factor, where a power factor of 1.0
simply means that you only have real power, no reactive
power. The leading and lagging VARs from capacitance and
inductance, respectively can be added numerically since
they are on the same axis.
To ask, how muck kVars are required for a given kW doesn’t
make a lot of sense because you need to include the desired
power factor.

Answer
Its 1.3A/KVAR

0 Utkarsh

Answer
Kvar= 1.73*V*I*Sin$ ($ IS INSTESD OF PHASE ANGLE PHI)

so I= kVAR/1.73*V*SIN$

IN A PURELY CAPACITIVE CIRCUIT $ IS 90 DEGREE
SO TERM SIN 90 = 1
HENCE WE CAN CALCULATE CAPACITOR CURRENT BY kVAR/1.73*V

0 Prakesh

Answer
Ic=IsinQ1-I'sinQ2

Ic is the subject of formula.

Answer
** Capacitor Current formula is

I= kVAr/kV/1.732 ( for 3 ph capacitor )

**for 1 kVar capacitor... suppose voltage is 440 volts than,

I=1/0.440/1.732
I=1.31 Amps.

For all your information,generally 1 kVAr capacitor takes
0.5 watts...henceforth..

30 kvar capacitor required kw=30X0.5=15 watts and is 0.015kw

thanks!!!!!!!

Answer
normally Formula
Kvar= 1.732*V*I*Sin(pi)
If Pure Capacitor 90 Leads so The power factor is Unity(1)
Assume *V=415
       *Sin(90)=1(But Reactive power is zero)
since I=Kvar/1.732*V*1 Eg. 1000/1.732*415*1=1.39A
other formula for Determine KW=KVAR/tan(pi)or KW=VIcos(PI)
Assume * cos(0.9)
since KW=KVAR/tan....Equ 1, take the cos invesr is equal to (0.9)=25.8419 ...Equ 2
KW=30KVAR/tan25.8419=61.94KW OR

Answer
Q = VIsin(fi)

capacitor current = I = Q/Vsin(fi)

For , 230 v and power factor angle 90 ,then

I = 1/230*sin 90 = 4.32 amp.

If power factor angle is 36.89 (power factor 0.8)
,then

P/Q = kw/KVAR = VIcos(fi)/VIsin(fi)

P/Q = cos(fi)/sin(fi) = Tan(fi)

P = Q tan(fi)

P = 30 tan(36.89) = 30 * 0.75 = 22.5 Kw

Answer
Kvar: 1.732* v*i
1kvar=1000var
I=1000/1.732*415 for three phas
I=1.392amps
